Memorial Day weekend was relaxing. We didn't do much of anything until today when we had our "big" ultrasound. We got to have some face time with the baby and even found out the sex.

We're having a boy.

We're both thrilled about this. Some of our family might be less so, as they were hoping for a girl, as girls are so much fun to accessorize. They'll get over it.

So now, the baby-stuff buying begins in earnest. All we've bought so far is a diaper bag and a baby toy (a soft giraffe that winds up and plays a lullaby). Of course, once we invest a sum equal to the national debt in strollers, car seats, high chairs, play pens, cribs, blankets and all of the accoutrements, we will find out we bought a bunch of blue stuff only to have a girl. This has happened to several people we know. I mentioned it today to the doctor while she was doing the ultrasound, and she pointed at it and said, "You're telling me THAT'S not a boy? C'mon!" We'll see......

It's not that we're not thrilled....it's just that we don't have any girls at all. And there is one person who is definitely glad it's aboy.

Bob: "Yes! A boy cousin"

Jenny, I thought that might be Bob's reaction. Honestly, I wasn't thinking of you, Bob, Sherron, et al, I was thinking of the central Texas crew. They've already made it clear they want to dress up a girl! But I'm sure they'll be fine with it either way. After yesterday's news, it sounds like we're not the last hope for a girl, so that's good news.

Congrats! We're having a boy, too! Nathan and little-Archi will have to be buddies. We're on the countdown... only 64 days till the due date. Yikes!

I'm excited for you, Robyn! I'll bet y'all have a ton of baby stuff by now. You'll have to keep us posted on how everything goes. And yes, I'm sure our little ones will be tearing it up like the best of friends!

Congrats, Kitty and RokynRobyn, from CrabAppleLane. Summer birthday parties are fun for boys. :)

I just read the most popular boy names are Jacob, Michael and Joshua. While these are OK, none of them ring my bell. Your thoughts?

Suzanne, None of those really get me too excited, either. I think we're getting closer on a name. I'll post it when we finally select something.
