Bark in the Park

Yesterday, Archi-Sapper and I took Miss Maggie to Zephyr Stadium to see the New Orleans Zephyrs play a game. Dogs were allowed as the SPCA was hosting Bark in the Park, where folks could sit on the levee (the one that actually survived the storm) with their dogs and half of the ticket sales were donated to the SPCA to help them rebuild. We had a great time (I have the sunburn to prove it) and even unwittingly got our picture in the paper. I didn't realize it until I started getting e-mails this morning from friends saying they'd seen the photo. I was having a good day until I saw the picture. Naturally, the only time the local paper takes my picture, I'm hunched over with the world's worst posture and I resemble an 80 year old who's still carrying around a few extra pounds (I suppose I'd be the only pregnant 80 year old around).

I was hoping to hit Jazzfest this weekend, but that will largely depend on whether the red layers of my face have peeled off by then. I'm definitely ready to roam the fairgrounds and stuff myself with all of the great food (and I think I've finally gotten to the bottom of the whole, "Why am I gaining weight?" question).
